RTI application can also be preferred by post or in person. Central Registry (CR) Section, President's Secretariat, Rashtrapati Bhavan (Near Church, North Avenue) receives RTI applications related to this Secretariat and the statutory fees thereof, as prescribed under the RTI Act, 2005.

Fee Charges: The RTI Section accepts various fees as prescribed under the RTI Act, 2005, both in cash against a proper receipt, as well as through IPODD/Banker’s Cheque drawn in favour of ‘PAO, President’s Secretariat”. For online applications, the fee maybe paid online.

  4.5.1 Grievance redressal mechanism

As per the Government of India (Allocation of Business) Rules, 1961, The President’s Secretariat is to provide secretarial assistance to the President. However, considering President’s Secretariat to be the highest office, the citizens send their grievances to the Hon’ble President. Such petitions are dealt in Public Sections of this Secretariat.

Citizens can send their grievances to the President of India through various means viz. by post (President’s Secretariat, Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, Pin – 110004), by hand – at Central Registry Counter of President’s Secretariat (near Church, North Avenue) or by helpline portal.  

For the purpose of registering online Public Grievance there is a provision of a link on the President’s Secretariat. On clicking the link https://helpline.rb.nic.in/ , the citizen is guided to helpline portal page where the grievance is registered and after due registration, a unique registration number is generated. The citizen also has an option of uploading relevant documents related to the grievance/complaint/suggestion.

Citizens making telephonic inquiries about status of their letters/grievances sent to the President of India can dial the facilitation number 011-23015321 ( Public I Section Extn: 4453 for Central Government related grievances and Public -II Section Extn. 4418 for  State Government related grievances) and  inquire about status of their letters/grievances.
